Ice Maker Not Stop Making Ice
On the other hand, sometimes, ice maker will not shut off, even after the ice collection bin is full. Here are some ways that you can try to solve this problem:
Lift the wire bail into the top position, and then remove the ice bin. Rinse thoroughly and then reinstall it. You may need a screwdriver to do this.
If this does not work, you may need to replace the ice maker. It’s possible to do this yourself, but probably best to have a professional repair tool to do this for you to save time and to ensure it is done correctly.
Ice Maker is frozen
Alternatively, ice maker you may be completely frozen, making it impossible to get the stone out of it. Try these steps to melt your ice maker:
Unplug refrigerator or flip the circuit breaker that powers it. Remove the ice collection bin and discard any ice loose to sink.
Search tube filling, white, rubber hose connecting the water supply line to the ice maker. There will be a little metal clip that holds the tube filling (though some units do not have this feature). Pull it down from the housing.
The hose is warmed and mechanisms. You can do this with a hairdryer. The key is to aim at any ice blocking mechanism from moving. Be careful with this process such as electricity and water is very dangerous. Be sure to wipe the dripping water. Also take care to not melt the plastic parts.
Or, if you do not have a hair dryer, you can soak in the hot water supply tube with a turkey buster. Use a bowl to catch the overflow. In some circumstances, it will be easier to remove from melting ice maker fill tubes.
Ice Maker Will Not Eject Ice
Lastly, ice maker you may be making ice, but do not kick it. This is a problem with the motor in the ice maker. If this happens, you may have to replace the motor in the unit.
